We will host the second annual Mushroom Walk on Lane’s great property between Kountze and Saratoga, 100+ acres that backs up to the Lance Rosier Unit of the BTNP. There is a large metal building there, for display and shelter. There are tables and chairs. Bring collecting gear (basket, bags, and knife), rain gear if rainy, water, and bug spray. Lane & Jeni would like to provide a lunch, maybe BBQ, or you may bring a sack lunch, lunch is planned for 12 noon or so, while we identify. We will meet at 10 AM, collect, display, identify and label the fungi. You may photograph the specimens if you like. We should be done by 2 or 3PM. Please park on the sand near the metal building or along the asphalt driveway. There is a deck at the rear entrance of the house. People may go in the house or hang out on the rear deck. The kitchen, bathroom, and dining room are all non-carpeted areas accessible through the back door.
Directions to follow: The red gate, big wooden arch, green trash can, big black square mailbox w/address on front, is + 3 miles from intersection of FM 326 & FM 770, or 5+ miles from Kountze and 9+ miles east of Saratoga, and is ½ mile east of Coe Rd, w/asphalt drive.
